Construction Project Manager - Summary
This position involves managing the complete project lifecycle from preconstruction through completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Project Manager will actively participate in project planning, procurement, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement, always upholding the company's core values and mission.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all project activities, providing leadership and direction to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, ensuring all milestones are met according to design documents and contractual requirements.
- Manage project budgets, including any self-performed work, ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor agreements, ensuring comprehensive and clear contract terms.
- Maintain consistent communication with subcontractors to ensure timely and quality performance.
- Prepare and submit owner billings, change orders, and schedule updates accurately and within required timelines.
- Apply knowledge of field concepts, construction practices, and procedures relevant to commercial and public works projects.
- Communicate and negotiate effectively with owners, public agencies, and other stakeholders to foster positive relationships and resolve issues proactively.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and quality assurance protocols throughout the project.
- Participate in project procurement, business development, marketing, preconstruction, and estimating efforts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Construction Project Manager or in a similar role with a commercial general contractor
- Prior experience managing public agency projects (e.g., school districts, universities, municipal projects)
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Timberline, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software like P6 or equivalent
- Project experience in sectors such as office, education, retail, federal or municipal facilities, hospitality, sports/recreation, parking structures, or tenant improvements
- Ability and willingness to learn and adopt company procedures
- Strong teamwork orientation and commitment to meeting critical deadlines and project milestones
- Self-motivated, organized, and reliable professional demeanor
- Availability to visit project sites weekly during construction, with flexibility based on project needs and complexity
