Construction Project Executive - Summary
As a Construction Project Executive, you will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all phases of commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position demands a proactive approach to client relations, team leadership, risk management, and business development. The role involves collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure the alignment of project goals with the organization’s mission and objectives. As a key leader, you will be instrumental in shaping project strategies, developing team capabilities, and fostering a culture of safety, responsibility, and client focus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations for multiple commercial construction projects, including project management and administration.
- Foster strong client relationships through exceptional service and successful project outcomes.
- Develop and implement project strategies and ensure clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Promote positive relationships with subcontractors and vendors by upholding high standards of professionalism and fairness.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Purchasing teams to optimize project setup for profitability and client satisfaction.
- Mentor, coach, and set performance goals for project team members to support professional development.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities within the commercial construction sector.
- Establish and communicate contract terms to project teams and oversee their execution.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards on all projects.
- Guide project teams through all phases, including pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction.
- Assess and mitigate potential risks to client operations and project execution.
- Review and approve project status reports, estimates, schedules, and major subcontracts or material purchases.
- Supervise bidding, negotiation, and execution of subcontract agreements.
- Maintain project schedules and cost controls in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Lead project mobilization, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure project success.
- Recruit, train, and supervise personnel, ensuring high standards of team performance.
- Support accurate and timely financial reporting, including project cash flow and progress payments.
- Assist clients with contract negotiation and collaborate with legal counsel as needed.
- Attend and contribute to meetings with clients, architects, and construction partners.
- Conduct project site walks to monitor quality, progress, and safety compliance.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $195,000 to $295,000 (companywide).

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience supervising or assisting with commercial construction projects of increasing complexity.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities and groups to achieve operational efficiency under pressure.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, contract management, and financial oversight for commercial construction projects.
- Physical capability to traverse active construction sites, conduct visual inspections, climb ladders, and ensure job site safety.
