Construction Estimator Project Manager Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Carlsbad, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work with a leading commercial painting and waterproofing contractor, recognized for its commitment to quality and excellence in the construction industry. As a Construction Estimator Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimation process and managing projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage the estimation process for a variety of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness from initiation to completion.
- Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information and resources for bid preparation.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the most competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, proactively addressing budgetary concerns and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Provide expert guidance on pricing strategies, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering to maximize project efficiency and profitability.
- Review and interpret contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in local travel as required to visit project sites, meet with stakeholders, and ensure project progress aligns with expectations.
- Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, cost control, and project management within the commercial sector.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a strong ability to interpret technical documents and project specifications.
- Proven negotiation skills, particularly in working with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Experience in painting or waterproofing projects is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
