- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including material take-offs, labor calculations, subcontractor bid evaluations, and overhead or administrative expenses.
- Analyze project requirements and constraints to identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering solutions, and strategies for maximizing project efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather up-to-date and relevant information essential for precise estimates.
- Evaluate, compare, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor bids to secure competitive pricing and ensure the selection of quality vendors for each project.
- Update and maintain cost databases, pricing catalogs, and historical data records to support ongoing improvements in the estimating process and decision-making accuracy.
- Prepare and present cost estimates to clients, explaining and justifying proposed costs as needed, and providing professional support during client meetings.
