Construction Estimator - Summary
- Responsible for providing detailed and accurate cost estimates for painting and construction projects.
- Works in-office to support bid preparation, project analysis, and administrative processes.
- Acts as a key contributor to the company’s operational efficiency and long-term financial success.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive take-offs and prepare detailed proposals for assigned projects, ensuring all requirements are addressed and organized electronically.
- Handle submittals by compiling and submitting required documentation to stakeholders and ensuring compliance with client specifications.
- Efficiently manage electronic files and documentation as part of the estimating process, maintaining clear organization for future reference and audit trails.
- Track bids using spreadsheets or specialized software, compiling and submitting monthly or quarterly reports with client names, project details, and bid amounts.
- Analyze project costs, billings, and net profit using accounting software such as QuickBooks, monitoring for discrepancies and reporting findings to management.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and quality in all assigned tasks, understanding their impact on the company’s reputation and future opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with team members, contributing to a positive and productive company culture.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required for consideration as a Construction Estimator.
- At least 2 years of experience in estimating within the construction or painting industry is necessary.
- Proficiency in using estimating and accounting software, such as QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Excel or similar tools for bid tracking and analysis.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to approach tasks proactively and solve problems efficiently.
