Construction Estimator Job Overview
TriStarr's client is seeking a dedicated Construction Estimator to join their growing team in Manheim, PA. This is a full-time position focused on supporting project managers by preparing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that bids are competitive and support the company's established sales and financial objectives.
Responsibilities

- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to prepare detailed time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
- Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, and track actual project costs against initial bids throughout the project lifecycle.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal team members—including engineers, architects, construction foremen, and project managers—to develop, refine, and finalize project estimates.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and other value-added personnel to ensure project success.
- Adjust estimates as project parameters change and communicate updates to stakeholders, including contractors and subcontractors.
- Prepare estimates for use in project planning, organizing, scheduling, and vendor/subcontractor selection.
- Generate cost and expenditure statements and other required documentation at regular intervals for project reporting purposes.
- Review material and labor requirements to determine the most cost-effective approach for component sourcing or production.
- Compile and update a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to support ongoing and future projects.
- Establish and manage cost monitoring and reporting systems for effective project review and management.
- Conduct project handoff meetings to ensure clarity among project managers, foremen, and safety managers regarding project scope and expectations.
- Support project managers throughout the duration of assigned projects, providing expertise and assistance as needed.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on software platforms such as Vista and B2W for estimating and project management tasks.
- Participate in project debrief discussions, contribute insights, and execute follow-up actions as assigned.
- Consistently adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules, representing the company in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner.
Qualifications
- Three to five years of related experience in construction estimating, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in relevant estimating and project management software platforms, particularly Vista and B2W.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
