Construction Estimator - Summary
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates to support project bidding and planning.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Maintain a focus on safety, inclusiveness, career progression, and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the achievement of established sales and financial objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints and project documentation to prepare comprehensive time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
- Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, and monitor actual costs versus estimates as projects progress.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to formulate estimates and resolve project-related issues.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and key project personnel.
- Confer with engineers, architects, and subcontractors on changes or adjustments to cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates used for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
- Develop estimates to assist in vendor or subcontractor selection.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other documentation at regular intervals throughout each project.
- Evaluate material and labor requirements to determine the most cost-effective sourcing solutions.
- Maintain an up-to-date directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Set up and manage cost monitoring and reporting systems for project review.
- Conduct handoff meetings to ensure clear communication of project expectations to managers and foremen.
- Support project managers throughout the duration of each project, providing expert guidance and assistance as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for relevant estimating software such as Vista and B2W.
- Participate in project debrief meetings and execute assigned actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety rules, maintaining professional and ethical conduct at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Three to five years of related experience in construction estimating or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Vista and B2W is preferred.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
