As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications, developing comprehensive and competitive cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. In this role, you will be expected to provide both conceptual and final estimating input on construction management (CM) or general contractor (GC) work, as well as deliver complete bid pricing for a range of commercial construction projects. Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information and develop reliable cost estimates
- Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and other direct and indirect costs
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy and competitiveness
- Conduct thorough risk analysis and develop contingency plans to address potential project challenges
- Maintain, update, and manage cost databases, historical cost records, and pricing information
- Provide input on value engineering strategies and cost-saving opportunities during the design and planning phases
- Assist in the development and preparation of project budgets and construction schedules
- Monitor ongoing project costs during construction to ensure adherence to established budgets
- Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and construction methods to enhance estimating accuracy
- Mentor and train junior estimators, providing guidance, support, and quality assurance
- Resolve technical and value engineering matters with owners, architects/engineers, and contractors during negotiations and contract execution

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- At least 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically within commercial construction projects
- In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software (such as Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Professional certification (such as Certified Professional Estimator, AACE Certification) is a plus
