CNC Maintenance Technician - Summary
The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of CNC drilling and routing machines and supporting line equipment. This role demands a detail-oriented professional capable of working independently and collaboratively to uphold equipment performance standards in a fast-paced production setting. Success in this role will require both hands-on technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC drilling and routing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal unplanned downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance as outlined by the established maintenance schedule and respond promptly to equipment issues as they arise.
- Diagnose and resolve electromechanical and mechanical issues down to the board level, using machine prints and technical documentation.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a range of production line equipment as required, adapting to evolving operational needs.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, maintaining accurate records for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment upgrades.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support production goals by responding to urgent maintenance requests and participating in equipment installations or upgrades as needed.
- Work overtime and some weekends as required to meet production schedules and minimize operational disruptions.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic AC/DC certificate, AA degree, or trade school equivalent in a relevant technical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in line maintenance, preferably within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting Excellon or other automated CNC drilling/routing machines preferred.
- Strong electromechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret machine prints and technical documentation.
- Proficient with a wide variety of hand tools and power tools, able to work with electric systems (high and low voltage).
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform some heavy lifting as part of routine maintenance activities.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production goals.
