The Cloud Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable enterprise API platforms across both multi-cloud and on-premises environments. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the architecture and stabilization of large-scale API platforms, ensuring their operational excellence and alignment with business objectives. Cloud Engineer - Summary
- Lead the design, deployment, and stabilization of enterprise API platforms across multiple cloud providers and on-premises data centers.
- Leverage Apigee Hybrid, Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, on-prem), and Akamai edge routing to ensure secure, reliable API delivery.
- Utilize infrastructure as code (Terraform) to automate provisioning and configuration processes.
- Work remotely while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to innovation and operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the design and deployment of a large-scale API platform using Apigee Hybrid across multi-cloud and on-prem environments.
- Manage and provision Kubernetes infrastructure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and on-premises clusters.
- Deploy and configure Apigee Hybrid runtimes and Akamai edge routing components to enable secure and reliable API access.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform to automate cloud resource provisioning and configuration.
- Configure and optimize multi-cloud networking for seamless connectivity and enhanced security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold observability, security, and compliance standards.
- Document infrastructure architecture, deployment procedures, and ongoing support strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent industry experience.
- Over 5 years of experience programming in SQL and managing both batch and streaming data pipelines.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing Kubernetes environments, particularly AKS, with preferred experience in GKE or on-prem clusters.
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple cloud platforms, especially Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, and experience with CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Familiarity with Apigee Hybrid architecture and deployment best practices.
- Knowledge of edge computing and routing platforms, especially Akamai.
- Experience with security event data integration and enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, and communication skills.
Ideal Candidate Snapshot
- Previous experience in healthcare or other regulated industries is a plus.
- Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications are desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Apigee Hybrid and/or Akamai noname engines is advantageous.
- Knowledge of GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux is preferred.
