IDR is seeking a Cloud Data Migration Engineer to join one of our top clients for an on-site opportunity in Austin, Texas. This role involves supporting cloud migration projects, particularly focusing on migrating Oracle workloads to AWS with expertise in infrastructure, networking, and automation. The company operates within the technology and cloud services industry, offering innovative solutions to support digital transformation initiatives.

Position Overview for the Cloud Data Migration Engineer:

• Responsible for migrating Oracle workloads to AWS using AWS DMS, supporting full-load, CDC, and real-time streaming data processes.
• Support the design, deployment, and management of AWS infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, and security configurations.
• Develop automation scripts and migration runbooks to ensure seamless data migration with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems in hybrid cloud environments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and CloudTrail.

Requirements for the Cloud Data Migration Engineer:

• 8+ years of experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.
• 8+ years of experience using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate data from Oracle to AWS.
• 8+ years of experience with batch and real-time data ingestion, including full loads, CDC, and streaming architectures.
• 8+ years of experience with designing and implementing AWS cloud services, specifically VPC, subnets, security groups, and networking.
• 8+ years of experience with core AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
