Civil Engineering Project Manager (PE) - Summary
- Lead and oversee public works and civil infrastructure projects from concept through completion.
- Act as the primary liaison between the firm and public agency clients, including city engineers and municipal stakeholders.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Supervise design production and technical documentation, ensuring all deliverables meet regulatory and client standards.
- Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals and participating in client interviews.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage public works and civil infrastructure projects from initial planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including city engineers, public works directors, and municipal stakeholders.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversee design production efforts, including plan development, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review and approve technical documents, including plans, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including local agency requirements, Caltrans standards, and Greenbook specifications.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead project meetings, presentations, and client communications with a high level of professionalism.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, scope development, and client interviews.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional growth and team development.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on public works and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing roadway, street, parkway, or capital improvement projects for public agencies.
- Strong knowledge of Caltrans, Greenbook, and local municipal design standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design/engineering software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget performance.
