Chiller HVAC Service Technician - Summary- Key role performing service, maintenance, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems, with an emphasis on chillers.
- Opportunity to join or be sponsored into Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 9.
- Work under the guidance of a field technical team lead within a supportive environment.
- Serve a large base of chiller-service contracts, ensuring optimal system performance for diverse clients.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and replacements of commercial HVAC equipment and chiller control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve building inefficiencies and technical malfunctions within HVAC and chiller systems.
- Provide clear and timely communication to customers regarding services performed, system status, and recommended upgrades or repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements at all levels.
- Assist with preparing quotes and estimates for customers as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities for company and client reference.
- Adhere to customer-specific requirements and ensure high standards of workmanship in every task.
- Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $45 to $65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

- Active union card with a plumbers and pipefitters local, or willingness to join Local 9 (company sponsorship available).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of chiller installation, maintenance, or service experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in general commercial HVAC maintenance, installation, and repair.
- Proficiency in servicing air- and water-cooled chillers and multiple compressor types.
- Experience with centrifugal chillers, tear-downs, steam turbines, and high-tonnage equipment essential.
- Absorber experience considered a plus.
- EPA Universal certification required; OEM certifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clear motor-vehicle record.
- Ability to pass required drug and background screenings.
- Experienced HVAC professional with a strong background in chiller systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
- Effective communicator capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Adaptable to changing work environments and eager to pursue continued professional development.
