As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will play a central role in performing comprehensive respiratory care assessments, managing patient airways, and operating advanced life-support systems. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Summary
- Delivers advanced respiratory therapy and life-support services for critically ill patient populations, including adults, pediatrics, neonates, trauma, and burn cases.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient respiratory assessments, including medical history, physical exams, diagnostic studies, and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis.
- Initiate, monitor, adjust, and discontinue mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory life-support for various patient groups.
- Administer a range of respiratory therapies, such as oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, inhaled nitric oxide, Heliox, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and lung expansion techniques.
- Collect, process, and interpret arterial blood samples, recommending interventions and ventilator adjustments based on clinical needs and protocols.
- Manage artificial airways, perform suctioning, extubations, tracheostomy tube changes, and respond to airway emergencies.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized respiratory equipment, including ventilators and monitoring systems.
- Respond to clinical emergencies as part of rapid response and resuscitation teams, providing airway management and manual ventilation support.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care and discharge plans.
- Educate patients, families, respiratory therapy students, military personnel, and healthcare staff on respiratory care procedures and equipment.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, outcomes, and compliance activities in electronic medical records and departmental reports.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s Degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or an approved military Pulmonary Respiratory Therapist program.
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy educational program recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or its predecessor.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification by the NBRC.
- Current certifications in Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- At least one year of experience within the past two years as a Pulmonary Respiratory Therapist, including experience with adult, pediatric, and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
