This opportunity is for a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a distinguished academic medical center as a locum provider. The CRNA will play a critical role within a collaborative anesthesia care team, supporting a Level 1 trauma center renowned for its exceptional clinical standards and robust infrastructure. This full-time assignment is scheduled to begin in July 2025 and continue through December 2025, offering a unique experience in a teaching hospital environment dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education.
As a CRNA in this locum position, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside anesthesiologists, surgical residents, anesthesia technicians, and experienced turnover staff. The position utilizes a traditional Anesthesia Care Team (ACT) model, typically involving a 1:2 or 1:3 supervision ratio, ensuring a supportive and collaborative work environment. The hospital features a state-of-the-art electronic medical record (EMR) system, EPIC, which integrates clinic and hospital workflows for seamless patient care management.
The CRNA - Locum role provides exposure to a diverse and high-volume case mix, including General Surgery, Gynecology, ENT, Vascular, Robotic-Assisted Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gastroenterology, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, Endoscopy, Dental, and MRI cases. Annually, the department performs approximately 25,000 anesthetics across 20 operating rooms and four minor procedure rooms. Key skills required for success in this role include proficiency in General Anesthesia, Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC), Regional Anesthesia (Spinals), and Arterial Line placement.
Flexible scheduling options are available, with weekday shifts such as 4x10 hours or 3x12–13 hours, and standard operating hours ranging from 7:00 am–5:00 pm or 7:00 am–7:00/8:00 pm. Notably, there are no call responsibilities, allowing a strong focus on patient care during scheduled hours. The assignment location is embedded in a vibrant region celebrated for its natural beauty, proximity to lakes and mountains, and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation and cultural enrichment.
Applicants must be NBCRNA certified and hold an active state nursing license at the time of submission. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
