Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care, including evaluation, management, and follow-up for diverse patient populations.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-anesthetic patient assessments and evaluations to determine the most appropriate anesthetic plan.
- Administer general and regional anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and effective pain management.
- Obtain, prepare, and utilize all required anesthesia equipment, medications, and monitoring systems during procedures.
- Monitor patient responses and vital signs throughout anesthesia and surgery, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Perform advanced airway management, including fiber-optic intubation and respiratory support interventions.
- Administer central neuraxial and peripheral regional anesthetic techniques, such as epidural, subarachnoid, caudal, and nerve blocks.
- Ensure effective post-anesthesia care, monitoring patient recovery and providing necessary interventions or consultations.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia care, medication administration, and patient responses.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Graduate of a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA) accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted RN and CRNA licenses.
- Valid license to practice as a CRNA in any U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
- Certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or National Board for Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Acceptable certifications include American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials.
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience delivering anesthesia for a broad range of procedures and patient populations, including major vascular, neurosurgical, and thoracic cases.
- U.S. citizenship required and ability to pass a NACI background check.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, maintain stamina during long procedures, and assist with patient positioning and equipment handling.
- Strong manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and ability to remain alert and responsive in high-pressure clinical environments.
