Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Summary
- Deliver comprehensive anesthesia care to patients of all ages and backgrounds in a hospital setting.

- Support the mission of providing top-tier healthcare services to service members, veterans, and their families.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluations to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Manage intra-operative care, including monitoring patient status and adjusting anesthesia as needed.
- Obtain, prepare, and utilize all necessary equipment, monitors, and medications for the administration of sedation or anesthesia using both general and regional techniques.
- Select, obtain, order, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, and blood products required for effective anesthesia management.
- Perform all aspects of airway management, including complex procedures such as fiber-optic intubation.
- Execute and manage central neuraxial anesthetic techniques, including subarachnoid, epidural, and caudal blocks.
- Demonstrate the ability to be trained in and manage peripheral regional anesthetic techniques, such as upper and lower extremity plexus blocks, individual nerve blocks, intravenous regional, and airway blocks.
- Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia follow-up and evaluation, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes, and consulting with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Initiate and administer respiratory support to maintain adequate ventilation and oxygenation during and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all anesthesia-related activities and respond to emergent situations as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience delivering general and regional anesthesia for patients of all ages and types of procedures, including major vascular, neurosurgical, and thoracic surgeries.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for L&D CRNAs.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check.
