Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across a variety of surgical and procedural settings.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate expertise in administering general and regional anesthesia to patients of all ages.
- Maintain a patient-centered approach, prioritizing safety, comfort, and effective communication at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate anesthesia plans for each patient.
- Prepare, obtain, and utilize all necessary equipment, monitors, supplies, and medications related to anesthesia administration.
- Administer anesthesia (general and/or regional techniques) and manage adjuvant and accessory drugs, fluids, and blood products as needed.
- Perform all aspects of airway management, including advanced techniques such as fiber-optic intubation.
- Perform and manage central neuraxial blocks, including subarachnoid, epidural, and caudal techniques.
- Demonstrate the ability to be trained in and perform peripheral regional anesthetic techniques, including upper and lower extremity plexus blocks, individual nerve blocks, intravenous regional anesthesia, and airway blocks.
- Monitor and support patient ventilation and oxygenation during anesthetic care, initiating respiratory support when necessary.
- Provide post-anesthesia follow-up and evaluation, monitoring patient responses and taking appropriate corrective actions or seeking additional consultation as indicated.
- Document all aspects of anesthesia care in accordance with regulatory and departmental standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in anesthesia care.
- Fulfill other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors or management in support of patient care and departmental goals.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in providing general and regional anesthesia for a diverse range of procedures, including major vascular, neurosurgical, and thoracic surgeries.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
- Active certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for L&D CRNAs.
- United States citizenship required.
- Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check.
