Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments, including reviewing patient histories, performing physical exams, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Develop individualized anesthesia care plans in collaboration with surgical and medical teams.
- Monitor patients during procedures, making real-time adjustments to anesthesia levels as needed.
- Manage patient recovery from anesthesia, providing post-anesthesia care and evaluating for potential complications.
- Document anesthesia services and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development to maintain certification and stay abreast of best practices in nurse anesthesia.
