In this full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position, you will serve in a fast-paced emergency department setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver direct patient care, monitor patients’ conditions, and assist with a wide range of medical procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment while adhering to both military and civil service standards. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Summary
- Provide direct inpatient psychiatric and medical care under the supervision of physicians, LVNs, and RNs in the emergency department.
- Support daily patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, personal hygiene, and assistance with mobility and feeding.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and adhere to safety and infection control standards at all times.
- Act as a key member of the healthcare team, ensuring effective communication with staff, patients, and visitors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, including verifying identifiers, recording vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, feeding, ambulating, and hygiene care.
- Dispense meals and fluids, monitor IV sites, and apply prescribed hot/cold packs.
- Collect or assist with specimen collection for laboratory analysis.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures including physical exams, X-rays, biopsies, and more.
- Document all patient care activities promptly and accurately, utilizing manual and electronic systems as required.
- Participate in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
- Transport patients for tests, treatments, and appointments as needed.
- Provide information to patients and visitors about hospital policies, unit directions, and reinforce instructions from clinical staff.
- Support infection control measures and maintain a clean, safe patient care environment.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new personnel and support administrative functions such as filing, equipment maintenance, and supply management.
- Attend and participate in nursing reports, care conferences, and team meetings.
- Perform other duties within the CNA skill set as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and registration in the Nursing Assistant Registry.
- Current, active, and unrestricted CNA certification or authorizing document from any U.S. state, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- At least one year of recent experience in an inpatient or emergency department under the supervision of a physician, LVN, or RN.
- Proficiency in medical documentation and adherence to healthcare compliance standards.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance or mechanical devices.
