As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this assisted living and long-term care facility, you will engage directly with residents, assisting with essential daily tasks and providing emotional support. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding to promote independence and comfort.
- Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and intake/output, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with the nursing team.
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing proper body mechanics and appropriate equipment to maximize safety.
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental condition promptly to the supervising nurse to support timely interventions.
- Support infection control and safety protocols in compliance with facility and regulatory policies, including the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) guidelines.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities, offering companionship and emotional support to enhance overall well-being.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and shared spaces to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.
- Document all care provided accurately and in a timely manner using electronic or paper records as required.
- Attend mandatory in-service training sessions and participate in ongoing continuing education to remain current on best practices and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, active Oregon CNA certification in good standing with the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN).
- Ability to pass the Oregon client background check and fingerprinting per ORS 443.004.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment start date.
- Completion of required orientation and pre-service caregiver training as outlined by OAR 411-054-0070.
- Commitment to completing 12 hours of annual in-service training, including dementia care, in accordance with ODHS standards.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans and nursing instructions.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents safely, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and professionalism in all resident and team member interactions.
Ideal Candidate Snapshot
- Six months or more of direct experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or memory care is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic charting systems such as PointClickCare (PCC) is an asset.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care or person-centered care approaches is highly valued.
- Adaptability to work with residents who have varying physical and cognitive needs.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude toward collaborative care.
Other Relevant Information
- Multiple shifts are available, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work involves standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional exposure to cleaning agents and biohazards (PPE provided).
