Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Summary
- Provide direct care and support for patients under licensed nurse supervision
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
- Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of care provided
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and oral care
- Support patients with dressing, undressing, and positioning
- Help with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and commodes
- Feed patients or assist with meal consumption to ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Monitor and record vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Document intake and output, including fluids, food, and urinary output
- Provide range of motion exercises and repositioning to prevent pressure injuries
- Observe and report changes in patient behavior, condition, or appearance to licensed nurse
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and common areas, assist with linen changes
- Promptly respond to call lights and patient requests
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
- Support patient rights, dignity, privacy, and independence
- Assist licensed nursing staff as delegated and within legal scope of practice

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) in good standing, or eligibility for certification
- Successful completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program (minimum 108 hours)
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and compliance verifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to assist with transfers, lifting, standing, and other patient care activities per facility policy
- Commitment to protecting patient privacy and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and respect for patient rights
