The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for dedicated professionals passionate about delivering exceptional women’s health care. As a CNM, you will play a pivotal role in an expanding, community-driven women’s health team in the Lower Hudson Valley region, providing full-scope midwifery care in a supportive and collaborative environment. This position is available as a long-term locum assignment or a permanent placement, offering flexibility for those seeking to find their ideal clinical home and advance their careers in women’s health.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), you will work with a high level of autonomy, practicing at the top of your license. The position is supported by a robust team of clinical nurses and dedicated phone triage staff, allowing you to focus on delivering quality patient care. You will also benefit from 24/7 physician backup, ensuring comprehensive support for both routine and complex cases.

This CNM opportunity involves managing a diverse and relatively low-risk patient population, where you will provide prenatal, postpartum, gynecological, and labor management services. The clinical setting is based in a state-of-the-art community hospital that features a Level II NICU and an average of 1,300 annual deliveries, allowing you to maintain and expand your skills across the full scope of midwifery practice, including assisting in C-sections and participating in collaborative care models.

The schedule is designed to support work-life balance, with a combination of office-based sessions and in-house hospital coverage. Specifically, the CNM will have three office days per week, including two OB clinic days and one flexible day for gynecology clinic or hospital operating room assistance, as well as one 24-hour in-house hospital call shift per week. This structure allows for continuity of care and fosters strong relationships with patients while providing opportunities for professional growth and leadership.

The ideal candidate will hold an active New York State Nurse Midwife license and have demonstrated experience managing low-risk pregnancies. A passion for community-oriented, collaborative care and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential to success in this role. In return, the organization offers competitive compensation, comprehensive travel and lodging support for locum assignments, and a dedicated team to assist with onboarding and credentialing, ensuring a smooth transition into the practice.

By joining this women’s health team as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), you will become an integral part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving maternal and family health outcomes. The Lower Hudson Valley offers an enriching environment for both personal and professional growth, with access to excellent community resources and a welcoming atmosphere for healthcare professionals. This is a unique opportunity to take the next step in your career while contributing to a respected, collaborative, and innovative healthcare team.
