Prior to your first shift, an orientation session will be provided to familiarize you with facility protocols and ensure a smooth transition into your new role. The hospital's efficient credentialing process, typically completed within two weeks, allows qualified CNMs to begin their assignments quickly and seamlessly.
As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), your primary duties will include caring for adolescent and adult female patients throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages. You will also manage gynecologic needs and provide newborn care during the first 28 days of life. The scope of practice includes admitting patients under MD consultation, participating in intensive care as permitted by unit policy, and assessing and stabilizing emergent patients in accordance with medical staff guidelines. You may also collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive comprehensive and cohesive care throughout their hospital stay.
