Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Summary
- Provide direct clinical support to healthcare providers and patients in an internal medicine practice
- Facilitate patient care and communication across clinical and administrative functions

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt, compassionate care to all patients, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their visit
- Act as a liaison between patients and providers to facilitate smooth communication and care coordination
- Perform clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, urine collection, and in-house health screenings
- Notify patients of lab results and handle prescription refill requests in accordance with provider instructions
- Assist providers during patient examinations, diagnostic tests, and minor procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment
- Complete prior authorizations for medications to support timely patient treatment
- Assist with patient assistance forms, care documentation, and other administrative tasks as needed
- Coordinate care plans and support patients in managing their health conditions effectively
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medication administration, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Advocate for patient needs within the healthcare system to ensure comprehensive care
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to maintain high standards of patient care and workplace efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned by providers or management to support the practice's operations
