Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Summary
- Reports directly to the Office Manager and works under the supervision of physicians and the Patient/Clinical Services Manager.
- Supports a busy primary care medical practice by providing professional nursing care and administrative assistance.
- Delivers care in both office and exam room settings, with occasional travel required between practice locations.
- Maintains a strong commitment to patient service, safety, and confidentiality at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' general condition, including taking vital signs and weight.
- Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment sessions.
- Provide basic patient care as directed by the supervising physician or manager.
- Document all clinical activities, interventions, patient responses, and medications in the medical record with accuracy and timeliness.
- Promote patient wellness by distributing educational materials and communicating physician instructions clearly to patients and families.
- Adhere to infection control procedures, safety guidelines, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Review patient cases, acknowledge and respond to requests, and ensure thorough documentation before case closure.
- Handle patient callbacks promptly and maintain up-to-date action notes in patient records.
- Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory; place orders as needed to ensure fully stocked patient rooms.
- Keep cleaning logs current and patient rooms organized for optimal patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Demonstrate competency in all required clinical tasks and medical equipment usage relevant to the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) role.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or nursing license required at the time of hire, with ongoing maintenance of certification/license during employment.
