Responsibilities
- Function under the direct supervision of physicians and practice managers to deliver high-quality patient care in a clinical setting.
- Recognize patient needs and symptoms in advance, responding proactively to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist with treatments and procedures as directed by the physician.
- Coordinate laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care according to clinical protocols.
- Accurately document patient treatment and care details in the medical record, maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Clearly explain patient care instructions to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing care to a diverse patient population, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize clinical workflows and support the overall mission of the medical office.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the medical practice and enhance patient experience.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, resulting in an associate degree or diploma.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from a recognized accrediting body (AAMA, AMT), with certification maintained and up to date.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, obtained prior to the start date.
- Three to five years of experience working in a medical practice or similar clinical setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment to ensure high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and the ability to utilize technology to support clinical care and administrative tasks.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts and occasional overtime as needed.
- No night or weekend shifts required.
