As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be responsible for welcoming and preparing patients for their visits, taking accurate vital signs, and assisting healthcare providers during examinations and procedures. You will be entrusted with handling sensitive patient information, performing clerical tasks, and ensuring that exam rooms are properly stocked and sanitized. Your role may also include performing EKGs, administering vaccines, and facilitating laboratory requests.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Summary
- Key clinical support role in a collaborative healthcare setting
- Works with physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, and LPNs
- Responsible for patient care, exam room preparation, and administrative support

Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and escort patients to exam rooms, prepare patients for visits
- Obtain and record accurate patient vital signs and medical history
- Assist providers with exams, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures
- Perform EKGs on selected patients as needed
- Prepare laboratory requests, label and deliver specimens, and retrieve lab results
- Administer vaccines (as allowed by certification)
- Maintain professional certification/registration and CPR certification
- Clean and restock exam rooms after each visit
- Answer, screen, and route outside calls; provide information and record messages
- Perform clerical tasks, including pre-registering patients and triaging inquiries
- Cross-train to provide backup for patient services and reception duties
- Participate in annual competency reviews with supervising RN or clinical trainer

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (Massachusetts required)
- Experience in a medical office setting and with electronic medical records is a plus
- Ability to maintain annual clinical competencies and CPR certification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel to various practice locations as needed
- Flexibility to work occasional weekend shifts
