Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for performing Medicare Annual Wellness Visits, including conducting risk assessments, providing preventive screenings, and coordinating care for patients within a clinical office environment. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a crucial member of our healthcare team, supporting physicians and care providers by ensuring patients receive high-quality, comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Medicare-compliant Annual Wellness Visits, following all required guidelines and protocols.
- Complete thorough Health Risk Assessments for eligible patients, accurately capturing relevant information to support care planning.
- Identify and coordinate preventive services as needed, working closely with other members of the healthcare team to ensure patients receive recommended screenings and interventions.
- Document all patient visits, assessments, and interventions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Assist in rooming patients and obtaining vital signs for individuals scheduled to see a provider, ensuring that the clinical workflow is efficient and organized.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with Medicare Annual Wellness patients is recommended.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred, with the ability to learn new software as needed.
- Strong ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical setting.
