We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Naperville, IL. As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play a pivotal role in supporting both clinical and administrative operations within a busy private medical practice. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient office workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assisting with examinations, procedures, and patient assessments under the supervision of physicians and nurses.
- Efficiently triage and room patients, ensuring all required medical information and vital signs are accurately collected and documented.
- Administer in-office clinical testing, including EKGs, and communicate results to the healthcare team as appropriate.
- Assist with a variety of administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and updating patient demographics.
- Perform insurance eligibility verification and coordinate with multiple payers and contracts to ensure smooth patient intake and billing processes.
- Act as a liaison between patients and physicians, facilitating effective communication and enhancing the overall patient experience.
- Administer injections and assist with prescription refill requests, ensuring all protocols are followed and documented.
- Conduct health screenings and administer relevant assessments as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program with current CMA certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems; experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Demonstrated experience in a private medical practice setting is highly desirable.
- Customer service focus and a commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience.
- Ability to work as a collaborative team member, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
