Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our internal medicine practice in Deerfield, IL. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting physicians and ensuring the highest quality of patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care by assisting with examinations, procedures, and gathering essential health information.
- Triaging and rooming patients efficiently to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive clinical experience.
- Document and collect vital signs, update patient medical histories, and maintain accurate records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Administer EKGs and perform various in-office clinical tests as directed by clinical protocols.
- Assist with administrative duties including appointment scheduling, updating patient information, and verifying insurance eligibility with multiple payers and contracts.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians, facilitating clear communication and addressing patient needs promptly.
- Administer injections and accurately record all treatments and screenings performed.
- Process prescription refill requests and communicate effectively with the physician for timely patient care.
- Collect and document patient demographics, and conduct routine health screenings as required.
- Utilize and maintain familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), with experience in Aprima considered a plus but not mandatory.
- Apply medical terminology knowledge in all aspects of patient care and documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is mandatory for this Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) role.
- Strong, effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrated customer service experience with a patient-centered approach.
- Prior work experience in a private medical practice setting is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative in daily responsibilities.
- Motivation to be proactive, take ownership of tasks, and contribute positively to the practice.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality care and service to all patients.
