The Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) role offers an exceptional opportunity for professionals seeking locum assignments in a dynamic, high-volume hospital setting. Successful candidates will join a robust anesthesia department within a large regional referral hospital, where the daily census and high acuity of cases ensure that no two days are alike. The hospital operates 17 active operating rooms daily, providing exposure to advanced surgical procedures such as complex neuro and spine surgeries, ENT, electrophysiology, general surgery, orthopedics, gastrointestinal and endoscopy, OB support, MRI/CT anesthesia, and pediatric cases. This environment is ideal for CAAs who thrive on variety and are comfortable with high-acuity care and fast-paced operating room settings.
As a member of the medical direction model (4:1 anesthesia care team), you will collaborate closely with anesthesiologists and other providers, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Your responsibilities will include performing intubations, managing arterial lines, and overseeing ventilator management. The role does not require DEA registration or supervision responsibilities, allowing you to focus on direct patient care and clinical excellence.
This position utilizes Epic electronic medical records (EMR) and offers an efficient credentialing process, typically completed within approximately 90 days. The assignment is ongoing, providing both stability and the flexibility to tailor your schedule within weekday operations. Compensation is highly competitive, and the package includes paid travel, lodging, rental car or mileage reimbursement, and malpractice insurance.
