CDL Class B Driver - Summary
The CDL Class B Driver position involves operating a Class B vehicle, such as a straight or box truck, to deliver glass and aluminum products to customers in a safe and efficient manner. This non-exempt, full-time role emphasizes punctuality, safety, and excellent customer interaction. The driver will also assist with warehouse tasks when not on delivery routes, ensuring smooth logistics and operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B vehicle, including straight or box trucks, for the transportation of glass and aluminum products.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Deliver materials to various customer locations accurately, following planned routes and schedules.
- Load and unload glass products, which may require lifting and handling materials up to 75 pounds or more.
- Operate a Moffett forklift for loading and unloading as needed to complete deliveries efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate DOT logs and all delivery-related documentation to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Plan and adjust delivery routes as necessary to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers to coordinate delivery times, address concerns, and ensure high-quality service.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, such as stocking, organizing, or preparing materials for shipment, when delivery responsibilities are complete.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating a Moffett forklift (required).
- Previous delivery driving experience, preferably within the glass, aluminum, or construction materials industry.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials regularly (up to 75 pounds or more).
- Demonstrated experience with loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with DOT logs, vehicle inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Comfortable using GPS and navigation tools to plan and execute delivery routes.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a commitment to providing a positive customer experience.
