The role of a CDL Class A Truck Driver is critical in ensuring that customer deliveries are completed with the highest level of accuracy, safety, and timeliness. As a CDL Class A Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining detailed documentation, and upholding company standards for professionalism and safety. As a CDL Class A Truck Driver, you will be expected to adhere to all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook, including uniform and appearance standards. You will also maintain a consistent attendance record, follow all safety and universal precaution procedures, and ensure all DOT requirements and certifications are current and properly documented. Your ability to report mechanical issues promptly, keep company equipment organized, and maintain a clean driving record will contribute significantly to the overall success of the logistics and delivery team.
Day-to-day responsibilities include loading and unloading linen carts, tagging each one appropriately, filling out and submitting all required paperwork and logs, and ensuring the cleanliness and disinfection of vehicles after each soil pick-up. The CDL Class A Truck Driver will weigh soil under the correct customer account, deliver all soil to the designated soil room, and turn in daily Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Reports. Performing deliveries accurately and on schedule is a core aspect of this role, as is providing timely communication with supervisors regarding any customer service issues or vehicle maintenance needs.
This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility, as the schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs. and pushing or pulling carts weighing up to 700 lbs. are part of the daily routine. Maintaining a professional appearance and a courteous attitude with customers and team members is essential. - Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Ensure company vehicles are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Load and unload linen carts at company and customer locations; tag each cart accordingly.
- Complete all required paperwork, logs, and documentation daily.
- Weigh and record all soil under correct customer accounts and deliver to the appropriate department.
- Disinfect vehicles after each soil pick-up to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Keep company vehicles clean and organized at all times.
- Submit daily Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Reports.
