Cath Lab Technologist (RCIS, ARRT-R) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist physicians, including cardiologists and radiologists, during catheterization and interventional procedures by scrubbing in and monitoring data
- Operate advanced imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy machines, power injectors, and manage contrast medium preparation
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, monitor vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate), and provide reassurance throughout their care journey
- Maintain strict infection control protocols by sterilizing procedure rooms and ensuring all equipment and supplies are adequately stocked
- Accurately document all aspects of procedures, adhering to hospital policies and radiation safety standards
- Participate in on-call rotations, including urgent response for STEMI cases, to ensure 24/7 operational readiness

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or a closely related discipline
- Active state CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) license and fluoroscopy permit
- Certification as an ARRT-R (Radiologic Technologist) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) is required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA) required at hire; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab or Interventional Radiology setting is preferred, but not required for all candidates
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow complex procedures, and excellent communication skills
