Cath Lab RN - Summary
- Supports a full spectrum of cardiac procedures in a high-volume, technologically advanced cath lab
- Works collaboratively with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and structural heart teams
- Participates in an on-call rotation to support urgent and emergent cardiac interventions
- Ensures patient safety and comfort throughout all phases of cardiac procedures
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-procedure assessment and education
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as PCI, EP studies, and device implants
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac rhythms, promptly recognizing and responding to changes in patient status
- Administer medications, contrast agents, and sedation as ordered
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure all equipment is prepared and functioning properly
- Document all aspects of patient care and procedural details accurately in the electronic health record
- Participate in the cath lab’s on-call rotation, responding quickly to emergency cases as needed
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans and optimize patient outcomes
- Provide post-procedure monitoring and education to patients and their families

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Prior experience in cardiac catheterization lab, critical care, or emergency nursing is highly desirable
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
