Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN) - Summary
- Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals within the cath lab team.
- Utilize advanced clinical judgment and technical skills to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes throughout each phase of care.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Prepare and educate patients and their families regarding the catheterization process and post-procedure care.
- Assist interventional cardiologists during a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as angioplasties, stent placements, and electrophysiological studies.
- Monitor patients’ physiological and hemodynamic status during procedures, identifying and responding to any complications, such as arrhythmias or bleeding, in real time.
- Initiate rapid emergency interventions in accordance with ACLS protocols for life-threatening situations including myocardial infarctions.
- Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated hemodynamic monitoring systems and diagnostic equipment.
- Accurately document all aspects of nursing care, including assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses.
- Ensure patient stability following procedures, provide discharge or transfer instructions, and support safe transitions of care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or a compact state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or Emergency Room (ER/ED) setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
