Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) – Cath Lab Rad Tech Summary
- Works directly with physicians and the cath lab team to perform and assist with cardiovascular procedures.
- Operates advanced imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic and interventional purposes.
- Ensures patient safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the procedure process.

- Participates in on-call rotations for emergency STEMI cases, delivering critical support as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Scrub into, circulate, and assist with cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, and similar procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including confirming consent, positioning, and monitoring vital signs throughout.
- Uphold infection control practices and maintain a sterile environment in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including acute cardiac events, as part of the on-call STEMI team.
- Document procedures, imaging, and patient information accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and cardiovascular technologists, to deliver seamless patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedure preparation, recovery, and follow-up care as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and valid Radiologic Technologist license (ARRT and/or state-specific licensure required).
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrated experience in a cath lab or similar cardiovascular imaging setting preferred.
- Ability and willingness to participate in scheduled on-call rotations, including STEMI coverage.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Note: Cardiovascular Technicians (CVT/RCIS) without a Radiology License are not eligible for this role.
