Carpentry Foreman - Summary
The Carpentry Foreman is responsible for leading construction crews, managing daily operations, and ensuring all carpentry work meets project specifications and company quality standards. This position requires hands-on participation in construction activities, proactive project coordination, and effective crew supervision to ensure the successful completion of luxury residential projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise crews of carpenters, apprentices, and laborers throughout all phases of residential construction projects.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate production goals, assign responsibilities, and establish clear expectations.
- Monitor crew performance, productivity, and quality, providing coaching and mentorship as needed.
- Plan and coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment, and deliveries to ensure timely progress.
- Review blueprints, specifications, RFIs, sketches, and change orders to maintain project alignment and accuracy.
- Identify project challenges, develop proactive solutions, and coordinate activities with project managers, superintendents, contractors, architects, engineers, and homeowners.
- Ensure all work complies with project plans, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed and ongoing work, immediately addressing any deficiencies.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, conduct jobsite safety meetings, and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Complete required documentation, including daily reports and project logs, and communicate project progress and challenges to management.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on residential rough framing and finish carpentry experience
- Prior experience in a leadership role, such as Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Crew Lead, or Superintendent
- Advanced knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, layouts, and construction documents
- Strong skills in layout, measuring, and field engineering
- Experience in construction sequencing, scheduling, and material planning
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with construction tools, equipment, and technology
- Physical ability to perform carpentry tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the workday
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and safely navigate active construction sites
