Carpentry Foreman - Summary
The Carpentry Foreman is accountable for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all field carpentry operations on residential construction projects. The role requires direct involvement in carpentry tasks, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Serving as a mentor and technical expert, the Carpentry Foreman drives the success of each project through proactive planning, effective communication, and a strong commitment to client satisfaction. Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise crews of carpenters, apprentices, and laborers, fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct daily kickoff meetings, set production goals, and assign work tasks to ensure clarity and productivity.
- Monitor crew performance, provide coaching and mentorship, and address field performance issues promptly.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain project schedules.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, RFIs, sketches, and change orders.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, architects, engineers, homeowners, and subcontractors.
- Maintain strict adherence to project plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Perform regular inspections, identify deficiencies, and ensure immediate resolution.
- Lead jobsite safety meetings, enforce safety policies, and promote OSHA compliance.
- Complete daily reports, project logs, and required documentation, ensuring accurate communication with management.
- Communicate project progress and challenges professionally with clients, subcontractors, and trade partners.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of residential rough framing and finish carpentry experience.
- Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Crew Lead, Superintendent, or similar leadership role preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and direct construction crews in a residential setting.
- Experience working on luxury custom residential construction projects is highly valued.
- Advanced knowledge of rough framing and finish carpentry techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Proficient in layout, measuring, field engineering, and sequencing construction activities.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Skilled in the use of construction tools, equipment, and field technology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capacity to safely climb ladders and navigate active construction sites while supervising crews.
