Carpenter - SummaryThe Carpenter role involves a variety of tasks related to residential construction, with an emphasis on framing and finish carpentry. The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious, with a keen eye for detail and pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship. You should be comfortable working independently or as part of a crew, adapting to the needs of custom residential construction projects. Being able to effectively communicate in English, follow instructions, and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues are essential for success in this role.
Duties & Responsibilities- Complete assigned work as directed by the Carpenter Foreman
- Maintain and utilize hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently
- Set up, clean up, and handle materials at the job site
- Cut and install various framing materials
- Construct floor, wall, and roof systems for custom residential projects
- Build and sheet interior and exterior walls
- Assist with concrete forms, foundations, and layout of framing for walls
- Frame doors, windows, and install floor and ceiling joists
- Participate in roof framing and stair construction
- Operate tools such as Skilsaw, Sawzall, levels, and layout tools
- Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times
- Maintain professional relationships with coworkers and supervisors
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1–4 years of residential construction experience based on position level
- Experience in residential framing and/or finish carpentry is preferred
- Basic carpentry tools as specified by S.R. Freeman, Inc.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Proficient in basic blueprint reading
- Valid California Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, handle and move lumber and materials, work from ladders, scaffolding, and at heights above 20 feet
- Good eyesight and depth perception for precision work
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Proactive in following safety protocols and procedures
- Possesses experience with roof framing, stair layout, floor systems, and concrete form work
- Skilled in door and window installation for custom residential projects
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently when required
- Leadership experience is a plus for those interested in advancement
