This Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) / RNFA role in Baltimore, MD involves direct collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality perioperative care to cardiothoracic surgery patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting, specifically utilizing the Maquet Hemapro system, and will be actively involved in 6-8 cardiac surgery cases daily. Experience with Epic electronic health records and advanced cardiothoracic procedures, including VAD, transplant, and ECMO, is essential for this position.
The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, with one weekly night on-call and rotational weekend call responsibilities. This structure ensures comprehensive coverage and supports a teamwork environment. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) / RNFA will play a pivotal role in both first and second assist functions, contributing to complex surgical cases and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Qualified candidates must have at least five years of vein harvesting and operating room experience, with demonstrated expertise in the Hemopro vein harvesting system. Candidates must also hold current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or RN First Assist (RNFA), with active and unrestricted licensure.
