Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver inpatient care to cardiothoracic surgery patients, including management throughout pre- and post-operative phases.
- First-assist in the operating room during cardiothoracic and vascular procedures, with a focus on endovascular vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass surgeries.
- Participate in daily rounds, collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate high-quality patient care.
- Respond to inpatient floor and EVH-related call responsibilities as part of a 24/7 coverage model.
- Mentor and train advanced practice providers in endovascular vein harvesting techniques.
- Assist in the management of heart, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients in both critical and acute care settings.
- Serve as a clinical resource for the surgical team, supporting patient safety, quality, and education initiatives.
- Utilize the Epic EMR system for comprehensive patient documentation and care coordination.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with eligibility for local state licensure.
- Documented experience in cardiothoracic surgery, including demonstrated competency in endovascular vein harvesting (EVH).
- Ability to independently manage inpatient cardiothoracic surgery patients across multiple care settings (OR, ICU, pre- and post-op).
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
- Prior locum tenens experience is advantageous.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and clinical mentorship, especially in EVH techniques.
