Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as first-assist in complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures such as CABG (coronary artery bypass graft) and valve surgeries
- Assist with intraoperative tasks including operative exposure, vessel cannulation, conduit harvesting, and surgical closure
- Maintain efficient operative workflow in collaboration with attending surgeons, surgical residents, and multidisciplinary operating room teams
- Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, sterility, and surgical protocol adherence
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of intraoperative care and procedural outcomes
- Provide expert support for all aspects of operative cardiothoracic care within the academic program

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Current or eligible state licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Minimum of two years of direct experience as a first-assist in cardiothoracic surgery
- Experience with endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a high-volume, surgical-first environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
