The Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) will have the chance to work across various units, including the Heart Failure Clinic and the Intermediate Care Unit. Cross-training is provided to ensure flexibility and coverage during census surges, allowing the PA-C to develop a well-rounded skill set. After initial onboarding and training in clinic and inpatient settings, additional training in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and operating room procedures is available, further enhancing the PA-C's capabilities and contributions to the surgical team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in the CT Surgery Clinic and Intermediate Care Unit
- Manage preoperative and postoperative assessment, planning, and interventions
- Conduct patient consultations, daily rounds, and assist with procedures as appropriate
- Implement evidence-based protocols for complex cardiac and thoracic patients
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Participate in call coverage on a rotating basis to support patient care continuity
- Engage in cross-training initiatives to effectively float between service lines during surges
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
