Cardiothoracic Surgeon (MD, DO, CTS) – Full-time Locum Contract

Palm Health Resources is inviting applications for a Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon (MD, DO, CTS) to join a distinguished cardiovascular institute recognized for its commitment to advanced patient care and surgical excellence. This position is offered as an ongoing locum contract with options to extend or transition to permanent employment, catering to both short-term and long-term career goals.

As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon (MD, DO, CTS), you will be an integral part of a collaborative team, working alongside other accomplished cardiac surgeons and a dedicated group of eight advanced practice providers, including nocturnal APP coverage. The institution is renowned for delivering the full spectrum of cardiovascular care, with a steadfast focus on innovation, quality, and patient outcomes.

The role involves performing a wide range of complex surgical procedures, such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), including beating heart surgery, mitral valve repairs and replacements, aortic valve replacements (AVR) and transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), complex thoracic aortic surgeries, arrhythmia surgeries including hybrid atrial fibrillation (A-fib) maze procedures, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), open and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy, mediastinal surgeries, carotid endarterectomy, limb bypass surgeries, endovascular aneurysm repairs (EVAR), and open abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repairs.

The cardiovascular program is experiencing robust growth, with annual volumes including over 700 combined cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases, more than 130 CABG procedures, over 50 valve repairs or replacements, upwards of 50 carotid or femoral endarterectomies, 40+ convergent ablation surgeries, 2,500+ catheterization lab procedures (including 250 structural heart interventions), and 1,300+ electrophysiology lab procedures with 500+ ablations performed. This dynamic clinical environment provides an outstanding setting for professional growth, skill enhancement, and advanced practice within the field of cardiothoracic surgery.

The facility boasts 12 state-of-the-art operating rooms, including two dedicated exclusively to cardiac surgeries, two hybrid suites, and two da Vinci robotic systems. The institute actively participates in comprehensive cardiovascular quality assessment and improvement programs, maintaining robust involvement in national registries such as STS Adult Cardiac Surgery, NCDR CP/MI, NCDR Cath/PCI, NCDR Device Implant Registry, NCDR TVT, SVS Vascular Quality Initiative, AHA Get with the Guidelines A-Fib, and NCDR LAAO.
