Surgeons will be involved in all aspects of patient management, from pre-operative consultations and clinical evaluations to operative care and post-operative follow-up. Clinic responsibilities involve seeing approximately ten patients per day, one day per week, in a fully staffed professional office adjacent to the hospital. The Cardiothoracic Surgeon – Locum Tenens, CT Surgeon position includes OR responsibilities, providing coverage for consults, post-operative care, and rounding, as well as ER call duties. Cath Lab coverage is required during regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 7am to 5pm, as needed. You will have the support of experienced 1st Assists and an always-available Heart Room in the OR. Monthly case volume averages 12-18 cardiac surgery cases and 5-10 thoracic surgery cases. Call coverage is expected daily, but is described as light, ensuring a balanced workload.
Candidates must hold a valid Texas medical license or qualify via IMLC and LOQ. Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery, or Board Eligibility within five years of completing training, is required.
