As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon (CT Surgeon), you will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care to patients requiring thoracic and cardiovascular interventions. The role features a balanced schedule, including dedicated time for both clinic and operating room duties, and is supported by a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), critical care, and anesthesia specialists. This facilitates a collaborative approach to patient care and ensures the highest standards of safety and outcomes. The team is comprised of two cardiovascular surgeons, four APPs, and robust support from ICU, anesthesia, and hospitalist colleagues, providing a collegial and supportive environment for professional growth.
The hospital, a 351-bed facility, features three dedicated Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVORs), state-of-the-art technology, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to the community. The Cardiothoracic Surgeon (CT Surgeon) will participate in a shared call model, ensuring a manageable work-life balance. Cardiothoracic Surgeon (CT Surgeon) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including both scheduled and emergency operations
- Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient assessments and follow-up care in a dedicated clinic (typically one day per week)
- Participate in a shared call model with timely response to surgical needs
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, nursing, anesthesia, ICU, and hospitalist teams to ensure coordinated patient care
- Utilize advanced surgical suites and maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Provide education and guidance to patients and families regarding procedural options and recovery expectations
- Document all procedures, patient interactions, and clinical decisions in accordance with hospital protocols
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain all necessary certifications

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Surgery
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Florida
- Ability to meet hospital call response requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
