We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join an established cardiac surgery program with a strong regional reputation. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a Cardiothoracic Surgeon who excels in both clinical and surgical settings, including clinic, operating room, and call coverage. The cardiac surgery program has been a cornerstone of advanced heart care in the area since the early 1990s. As the only comprehensive cardiac surgery and interventional program within a 60-mile radius, it serves a diverse patient population and consistently maintains a strong procedural volume, with current heart surgery cases trending above 300 annually. The surgical team is expanding from one to three Cardiothoracic Surgeons, supported by both in-house and visiting providers. The group is complemented by three employed Physician Assistants (PAs) and one locum PA, ensuring robust perioperative and postoperative patient management.
The scope of the program includes coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair and replacement, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). While left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and transplant procedures are not performed, the program is equipped to provide advanced care in all other major areas of adult cardiac surgery. Cardiac Surgeons benefit from ongoing support provided by a partnering group, with additional coverage available one to two days per week. This collaborative approach enhances patient care and optimizes workflow for the surgical team.
