Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary- Full-time contract assignment as a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) supporting cardiac and thoracic surgery teams.

- Provide comprehensive call coverage, including 24/7 responsibilities as part of a rotating schedule.
- Evaluate and manage patients in the clinic setting, including pre-operative and post-operative assessments.
- Round on inpatients, coordinate care plans, and communicate patient progress to the multidisciplinary team.
- Serve as First Assist in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) alongside the Cardiothoracic Surgeon during open-heart and thoracic procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in vein harvesting techniques and other first-assist functions as required by the surgical team.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
- Competitive 1099 compensation rates for the Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) contract assignment.
- Lodging, rental car, and flight expenses fully covered for the duration of the assignment.

- Eligibility for state licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and ability to obtain required credentials.
- Active certification as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with board certification.
- Current certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Documented experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery first assisting, including vein harvesting and operating room protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a proven track record in surgical first assisting.
- Demonstrates adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Comfortable with 24/7 call coverage and flexible in adapting to clinical demands and team needs.
- Possesses excellent clinical judgment and the ability to function autonomously within established protocols.
- Strong desire to contribute to a mission-driven team in a supportive, scenic location.
- The assignment is designed to start as soon as possible for a four-month initial term, with potential extensions based on mutual agreement and performance.
