Palm Health Resources is currently seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our esteemed surgical team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This full-time opportunity offers a dynamic role spanning the entire continuum of care for patients requiring cardiothoracic surgical intervention. Our program is recognized for excellence in adult cardiac surgery, aortic surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, thoracic surgery, and innovative hybrid procedures for atrial fibrillation.
The Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA-C) will play a pivotal role in first assisting in the operating room, managing patients in both the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Cardiovascular Intermediate Care (CVIMC), and step-down units, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team. Duties & Responsibilities
- First assist in the operating room for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and hybrid approaches.
- Manage patients across the CVICU, CVIMC, and step-down units, ensuring continuous, high-quality care throughout the perioperative period.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds with surgeons, NPs, and other care team members.
- Implement advanced practice provider (APP) expertise in cardiac disease management, including ECMO and Impella 5.5 implantation and care.
- Document patient progress, assessments, and care plans in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Participate in the STS Registry and contribute to ongoing quality and outcomes improvement programs.
- Engage in educational opportunities, clinical research, and the development of new care programs.
- Work a flexible schedule of five 8-hour shifts per week, covering two weekends per month, with 1:2 OR call rotation only.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in the state of Florida.
- Valid controlled substance registration with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
- Minimum of two years of inpatient cardiovascular experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced cardiac disease management as an APP.
- Strong commitment to team-based, multidisciplinary care and patient safety.
- Proven ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.
